INTERIM EXECUTIVES
  • INTERIM NATIONAL PRESIDENT-FORTRESS YAW ADIKA

Fortress Yaw Adika is the National President of ILGS Alumni. He holds Masters in Local Government Administration and Organization (LGAO) from KNUST, at the Institute of Local Government Studies Campus, 2017. Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, from the University of Professional Studies Accra, 2013. Diploma in Public Administration, from the University of Ghana Business School, 2005. Executive Certificate in Strategic HR Management at the Human Resource Certification Centre, Accra. Certificate in Labour Law and Application also at the Human Resource Certification Centre, Accra.

Works with the University of Ghana, Legon, at the Human Resource and Organizational Development Directorate, 2008 to 2014. Administrator at the Hilla Limann Hall, 2014 to 2016, Administrator at the Office for Students with Special Needs (Now; Centre for Disability Studies and Advocacy), 2016 to January 2023 and currently working at the Academic Affairs Directorate at the Teaching and Examination Unit, February 2023 to date.

2020 to date, on part-time basis, I provided Research and Administrative Support Services to the Counter Terrorism Trend Analysis, Africa; an NGO (CTTA) as well the Human Security and Research Centre-Ghana, (HSRCGh). Business Developer at Saazo Ghana Limited; Real Estate Developers and Financial Consultants.

Representative for the Federation of Universities Senior Staff Association Ghana (FUSSAG) on the University of Ghana Sexual Harassment Committee and associate member, Senior Professional Human Resource International (SPHRi) at the Human Resource Certification Centre, Accra-Ghana he is also a commissioned Presbyter, of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana; at the Trinity Parish, Madina.

He belongs to the Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship International (FGBMFI) and the Legon Lions Club of the Lions Club International  and married to Cynthia Asabea Woode-Adika

 

  • INTERIM VICE PRESIDENT- MS. MAGDALENE SEFAKOR FUMMEY

Ms.Magdalene Safakor Fummey is the interim Vice President of ILGS Alumni. She is a female Professional Planner with expertise in Local Governance, Local Economic Development, Project Management. She recently received training in designing cities for toddlers and caregivers from the London School of Economics and Political Science, London. She has over a decade experience working in both public and Not-for-Profit sectors.

She currently works as a Senior Development Planning Officer who works in the Development Planning Unit of the Korle-Klottey Municipal Assembly and doubles as the LED Focal Person. She has participated in the numerous trainings programmes organized by both public and private decentralisation and local governance institutions. She is currently working on the compilation and publication of Investment and Business Directory for the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly.

She holds Master of Science in Local Economic Development at the Institute of Local Government Studies, Bachelor of Arts Hons. Integrated Development Studies, Certificate in International Project Management at the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Business Development, India and Executive Education at Urban95 Academy London School of Economics and Political Science in 2022

  • INTERIM GENERAL SECRETARY- FRANK WILBERFORCE NII DUAH

Mr. Frank Wilberforce Nii Dua is the Interim General Secretary of ILGS Alumni.

He is result-oriented team player with strong organizational skills. He has proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy.

To seek and maintain full-time position that offers professional challenges utilizing interpersonal skills, excellent time management and customer satisfaction.

He holds Bachelor of Law – Post First Degree at the University of Professional Studies,Accra. (2016-2020), Master of Arts with Research in Local Government Administration, Institute of Local Government Studies – KNUST (2012-2014),

Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), (2014), Bachelor of French Education, University of Education – Winneba. (2006-2010), Senior Secondary School Certificate, Presbyterian Secondary School, Teshie (2002-2005).

His professional experiences are as follows: Director of Youth Employment, Tema Metropolitan Assembly, Tema, Deputy Municipal Youth Employment Coordinator, Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly, Teshie-Nungua, Teacher, Teshie Presbyterian Senior High School, Teshie -Accra

      

  • INTERIM FINANCIAL SECRETARY- ABRAHAM LAWER KWAO

He is the Deputy Chief Accountant in Ghana Education Service with over ten years of substantive experience, gained over the years, and helping to ensure the prudent use of public funds, strict application of the laws and regulations, (PFMA) governing the usage of public funds, properly and timely preparing and presenting financial statements of the funds entrusted in the care of my cost center.

Result oriented accountant with great sense of urgency and positive mindedness ensuring that the needed results are achieved, even in the mist of resource constraint. He holds Master of Science in Local Government Financial Management at the Institute of Local Government Studies, Bachelor Science in Business Administration, Accounting and Finance and HND Accountancy.

INTERIM TREASURER- ABDUL MUMUNI MORO WANDAOGOUN

Hardworking, innovative and result oriented graduate with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and above all, a team player. Abdul has the ability to organize and manage resources effectively including good human relation and strong communication skills. He is determined to work harder and be a team member. He is an Internal Auditor at the Local Government Service and holds Master of Arts in Local Government Financial Management, Master of Arts in Marketing and e-commerce, Bachelor of Science in Administration, Accounting option and Diploma in Accounting.

INTERIM ORGANISING SECRETARY- ABDUL-BAQI ALHASSAN

He is the District Development Planning Officer at the Builsa South District Assembly, Fumbisi in the Upper East Region of Ghana. His career objective is to contribute in enhancing the understanding and awareness about developmental and environmental issues among the people of Ghana to make it a better place for the present and future generations. He holds Master of Arts in International Development Studies at the Presbyterian University College, Ghana - 2020 to 2021, Master of Science in Environmental Science Policy and Management at the Institute of Local Government Studies, Accra- 2014 to 2019 and BSc Integrated Science Education at the University of Education, Winneba -2008 to 2012.

NORTH EAST REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE- LAMNATU ADAM

Executive  Director- Songtaba  (Women  and  children’s  rights  organization  in  the Northern Ghana).

She is a development practitioner with about twenty years’ experience in gender and human rights activism in development work with a solid background and track record in research, gender responsive programme design and management.

I have deepened interest in the fight for social justice with focus on community development and empowerment of marginalized populations such as women, children, and the disabled and other marginalized groups. Thus, contributing significantly in changing the narrative on gender discrimination and violence against excluded groups. My advocacy work has earned me several awards. My contribution has been enormous towards the advocacy for the reintegration, and dignity of marginalize groups and I have been recognized by the Girls not brides on working to achieve child marriage free communities.                                                                                                      

She holds Master of Science in Local Economic Development from the Institute of Local Government Studies, Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Development Studies, Certificate course on Strengthening Response Mechanism to - Violent Extremism in Coastal states in West Africa at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping center, Certificate course in policy advocacy and engagement at the West  Africa  Civil  Society Institute. Certificate Course in Project Management Professional at the Knowledge Tree Technologies (K T T). Teacher Education Certificate – 3 ye ar Post Secondary at the Tamale Training College.

 CO-OPTED REPRESENTATIVE- MS. FLORENCE GBENA SESHIE

Ms. Florence Gbena Seshie is the ILGS Alumni Co-opted Representative and Administrative Officer at Bellsea Limited.

Highly efficient and diligent administrative officer with over ten years’ experience in administration and finance looking forward to continuing my career with an organization that will utilize my ADMINISTRATIVE, LEGAL & LEADERSHIP skills to benefit mutual growth and success.

I hold Professional Law Course (PLC) 2020 -2022 at Ghana School of Law, Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at Wisconsin International University College 2015 – 2018, Master of Science in Financial Management at the Institute of Local Government Studies - Accra, 2014 – 2016, Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, University of Ghana 2004 – 2008. Some of the leadership positions held are: Treasurer 2019 -2020 and Vice President 2020-2021 of Toastmasters International-Joe Lartey’s Club (A Public Speaking and Leadership club.

CO-OPTED REPRESENTATIVE- KENNETH YAOH KETOR

Kenneth Yaoh Ketor is the District Planning Officer of Gomoa West District Assembly, one of the 260 Local Government Authorities in Ghana since December, 2018. He, before then, held same position at Central Tongu and Nkwanta South Districts after working with Accra Metropolitan Assembly. As the District Planning Officer, Mr. Ketor is responsible for procurement, socio-economic survey, preparation of various development plans, monitoring and evaluation and serve as the coordinator of various sector departments’ programmes and projects and regular reporting of development reports to necessary authorities. With these ten years of working as a public servant, he has vast experience in community works in Accra, peri-urban and Rural areas, computer skills, and public management and coordination skills. He has two Bachelor’s Degrees (B.Eng Civil Engineering and BSc Planning) and Master’s Degree in MA Local Government Administration and Organization (MA LGAO). He is the Honorary Secretary of the Ghana Institute of Planners (GIP) and by extension member of the Commonwealth Association of Planners (CAP).

UPPER EAST REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE- ISRAEL QUARME AYER

Israel Quarme Ayer is the Upper East Regional Representative of ILGS Alumni Association and the Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer National Health Insurance Authority.

 I am a hardworking and diligent manager with the National Health Insurance Authority since September 2011.  I have managed staff population ranging from 60 and 350 for the years in this organization. As a  Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, I have the responsibility to analyze data of performances of district offices and subordinates I directly manage at the regional level and report same to the Head Office of the Authority for necessary actions.

I hold Master of Art in  Local Government Administration & Organisation from the Institute of Local Government Studies, Bachelor of Art in  Sociology & Religions, 2006 - 2010: University of Ghana, and Teachers ' Cert. "A", 3 Year Post-Sec, 1999 - 2002, Akatsi Teacher Trg College .

CENTRAL REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE- JOSEPH SAYED EFFAH

Mr. Joseph Sayed Effah is the Central Regional Representative of ILGS Alumni Association and the Assistant Manager (M.I.S) at the Twifo Praso District Office in the Central Region.

He holds MSc. Environmental Science Policy & Management (ESPM) from the Institute Of Local Government Studies (ILGS), 2015-2019, Post Graduate Diploma in Management Information Systems (PGD-MIS) at GIMPA – CIPD, School of Technology, 2009 – 2010 and Dip. Mine Surveying at KNUST – Sch. Of Mines (Now University of Mines & Technology, UMaT), 1998 – 2001.

 EASTERN REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE- MUNTALA ALHASSAN

Muntala Alhassan is the Eastern Regional Representative of the ILGS Alumni Association and the Municipal Finance Officer of New Juaben North Municipal Assembly. He holds Senior Management Certificate in Public Financial Management at the Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS), Master of Science in Local Government Financial Management at ILG/KNUST, 2016 to 2018. The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA II) from University of Professional Studies Winneba – Kumasi Campus, 2006 to 2008, Bachelor of Education in Business Education (Accounting & Mathematics) at the University of Education Winneba – Kumasi Campus 1999 to 200, Diploma in Business Education (Accounting & Mathematics) at the University of Education Winneba – Kumasi Campus,1994 to 1997,  and Teacher’ Certificate ‘A’ (3 Year Post Secondary) at the E.P Training College, Bimbilla, 1989- 1992.

Some of the achievements choked are Finance officer from 2010 to date, participated in global conference on sustainable public Procurement in Bonn, Germany, September, 2019, Head of Business Department (Salaga Secondary School, 1998 - 1999). House Master (Nkrumah House, Salaga Secondary School.
