Dr. Sulley Ibrahim,   sulley.ibrahim@ilgs.edu.gh

Sulley Ibrahim, PhD, is with the Department of Local Government Studies. His lecture and research activities at the Institute revolve around Decentralisation & Local Governance; Gender & Local Governance; and Community Leadership & Local Governance. Sulley previously worked with the Abuja-based Centre for Democracy & Development, CDD-West Africa as a Non-Resident Fellow and is currently completing his Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship with the Scotland-based University of Strathclyde and University of Cape Coast on the project of One Ocean Hub, focusing on Customary Law and Marine Small-Scale Fisheries Governance in Ghana. He holds a PhD in Social Sciences from KU Leuven, Belgium; an MA in Conflict Resolution from University of Bradford, UK; and a BA in Sociology with Information Studies from University of Ghana, Legon. Sulley’s publications have appeared in journal portals, including the Review of European, Comparative and International Law, Democracy & Development – Journal of West African Affairs, International Journal of Educational Development, and Globalisation, Societies & Education.
